Quatorze

Quatorze is now actually 15, but that’s the name he came with. He arrived after the death of his owner, finding himself placed in a refuge. He found this time very hard, coming to us after six weeks. All our dogs have to go through a period of quarantine, which is being isolated again. He found it hard to become very vocal. Once his quarantine time was up, he was introduced to the other dogs and fitted in as though he had always been there, barking reduced, and he found his paws making friends with the volunteers—a true people dog.

He has at one time lost part of his tongue and a few teeth, along with the fur on his back (which is beginning to grow back). Being part shepherd and a large boy his joints are failing him, so he is on pain medication to ease his pain, but still loves a potter in the field and a walk down the drive to investigate new smells.
